Browsers Closing Temporarily Before Grand Reopening

An Update to the Carson City Community from Friends of the Carson City Library

The Friends of the Carson City Library and its Browsers Corner Book Store have been hit hard by the COVID-19 shutdown. While we have appreciated the support of our loyal fans, our business — like many others in our community — has been challenged with the fallout of the pandemic.

We opened with anticipation of being able to adapt and respond to our community members’ desire to quench their thirst to read. Unfortunately, our attempt to reopen was a little too soon. We really needed to do more strategic planning to adjust to all the pandemic protocols which are required.

With a resilient group of volunteers, we are regrouping and with that will temporarily close Browsers Corner effective Saturday, Sept. 26. Our plan is to strategically, quickly and effectively revamp, disinfect, restock, re-shelve and retrain all volunteers.

Keep an eye out for the announcement of our Grand Reopening! At that time, we’ll announce and post more information about open days and hours as well as specific information about donations.

With that, we ask for the continued support and patience of our community. We appreciate how wonderful everyone has been with donations throughout these challenging times. While we are closed, we will continue to accept monetary and book donations. We’re not stopping — we’re just revamping.

We look forward to having you join us again shortly. Thank you for your continued support of the Friends of the Carson City Library and the direct beneficiary, the Carson City Library.

Sincerely,

The Friends of the Carson City Library and Browsers Corner Book Store
